CONTEXT

Audio experiences were fragmented as competitors expanded beyond music

Music and spoken-word audio lived in separate products—Amazon Music and Audible—forcing customers to switch apps and manage multiple libraries. At the same time, other music streaming services were rapidly expanding into podcasts and long-form audio, raising customer expectations for a single, unified listening destination and putting pressure on Amazon Music to evolve beyond music.
SOLUTION

A unified audio destination inside Amazon Music

I led the design strategy to integrate Audible into Amazon Music, enabling seamless discovery and playback of audiobooks and podcasts alongside music. The solution preserved Audible’s premium identity while making spoken-word audio feel native within Amazon Music—reducing friction, expanding the product’s value, and scaling globally across customer states.
