CONTEXT

The world changed with the Covid-19 pandemic

I joined Amazon in 2020 right when the Covid-19 pandemic began. More people stayed at home, and craved new ways to enjoy music. Concerts were all cancelled and indefinitely postponed, so artists also struggled to provide live music to their fans.

We also saw competitor’s like Spotify and Youtube Music grow their business during this time period. In an ever competitive landscape such as music streaming, how can we differentiate ourselves?
SOLUTION

We brought the concert to you. At home. For free.

We partnered with teams at Prime Video and Twitch to quickly enable a embedded streaming experience on Amazon exclusively. We partnered with multiple artists like Coldplay, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and festivals like Dreamville and Head in the Clouds to bring these shows to our customer’s homes.
